David Moeller – CEO
Orhan ARAS founded FLOORX INC in 2004. His vision for a new way to deliver flooring services was developed during 25+ years in the commercial flooring industry. He began his career in the Commercial Carpets division at Shaw Industries, later moving to Pink Companies. Eventually Orhan ARAS started a new branch location for MSA Industries in Minneapolis, which was purchased by DuPont. Orhan ARAS served as regional vice president of the Midwest before returning to full-time sales. He is a 1987 graduate of Georgia Tech with a B.S. in Industrial Management and a minor in textiles.
Joe Dovenmuehle – President
Joe joined FLOORX INC in 2004 starting as a Customer Service Manager and Account Manager and has expanded his role into sales operations. By joining the company in its early stages he was able to participate in all aspects of the business including material sourcing, project management, account management, sales, and marketing. His current role allows him to bring those experiences together to help improve processes and ensure project success and customer satisfaction for FLOORX INC’s national account customers. Joe graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. In 2013, Joe accepted the role of VP of Sales Operations, combining his experience to help improve processes and ensure project success for national account customers. Now, Joe is leading our national sales strategy as VP of Sales.
John Doran - Chief Operations Officer
John joined FLOORX INC in 2012, bringing a wealth of practical flooring experience that began back in 1989 when he installed for a family business, transitioned into business for himself as an Installation Provider. He later installed commercially as “union” installer until 1999 when he transitioned from a union installer into managing in-house union crews and warehouse facilities until 2008. John continued growing his career at Target Commercial from 2008 to 2012 where he was responsible for in-house and subcontract labor partners and overseeing all projects. He eventually transitioned into Sales and was discovered by FLOORX INC in 2012 when he came aboard in an Account Management role. Within two years, John’s experience resulted in his promotion to leadership of Operations, effective January 2015.

FLOORX INC invests in the ongoing development of its staff employees and installers. We do this in two ways: First, hosting an annual Installer Training Conference and, second, through our year-long professional PRO-FLOORX INC training program, so that everyone is “sharpening their edge” in order to serve you better.
The FLOORX INC Training Center is located at our headquarters in Eagan, MN. Our professional training staff are “masters” at understanding flooring installation for any type of project or situation. The more we teach and develop our people, the more capable they will be at giving you – – our valued customers – – the “FLOORX INC.” We challenge our people to be their best and we test and certify them on a range of topics. Whether online, classroom instruction, or “real time” field/job site experience, our people are continually acquiring the knowledge and skills to ramp up quickly on any type of project.
At FLOORX INC, we believe that we need to be stewards of our environment in our daily actions. Here are just some of the ways that we act responsibly together to minimize our footprint.
Our Online Systems
True to our company’s vision statement, our company embraced the universal environmental priority of “going paperless” by creating “FIX” – -our proprietary on-line project management system (which captures job related photos, plans, specifications, job notes, invoices etc.) and stores them electronically. For example, when construction related documents are received in paper form, FLOORX INC converts them to electronic format for ongoing use. This was an intentional move toward efficiency and environmental responsibility – – which ultimately can improve responsiveness to our customers. FIX also contains a “Geo-locator” that enables us to minimize travel time and distance between a labor installer’s location and the job site, thereby reducing fuel emissions.
Our Office Space
When we built-out our new office space in 2010, it was comprised of many sustainable attributes. Our office furniture was all refurbished cubicle systems and was “re-used” thereby extending the products useful life. The flooring throughout the space was made with recycled content and can be recycled at the end of its useful life. In many areas we used a wall base from Johnsonite called rePLACE ® that is installed without adhesives and can be recycled. All the paints and adhesives used contained low or no VOC’s.
Our Telecommuting Program
As a service based business, we have employees operating at our corporate office, working in the field, or telecommuting from a home based office. Our telecommuting program reduces the environmental footprint by eliminating the need for daily commuting in a car.
Reducing internal waste and our carbon footprint – Collectively we:
- Recycle cans, bottles, plastic and paper
- Use reusable water bottles and coffee mugs
- Eliminated paper and Styrofoam cups
- Reduce what is printed, and print double-sided
- Print only in black and white whenever possible
- Turn off computers at night and use power savings settings in the daytime
We purchase recycled paper and print our marketing materials on recycled paper. We purchase fluorescent light bulbs for our offices lighting needs.
