Disaster Strikes On The Weekend (Case Study 1)

Case Study 1

Disaster Strikes on a Weekend

On a Saturday afternoon a tornado strikes an 80,000 SF retail facility tearing a hole in the roof and the side of the building, causing damage throughout the store. The customer immediately thinks of their preferred flooring vendor who is currently managing 15 full carpet replacements across the country. Plus, who else would answer the phone on Saturday but FLOORX INC?

FLOORX INC coordinates a team of 19 installers to arrive to the project and begin work in coordination with a disaster recovery team on Monday evening. Utilizing two crews working in 12 hour shifts, FLOORX INC works 72 consecutive hours demoing and installing over 7,000 SY of carpet throughout the store. The store re-opens in less than one week significantly reducing expectations of lost store revenue and returning a sense of normalcy to a shaken community.
